Cheryl Guevara from Rubenstein Communications, Inc. has got in touch to tell me about XM Radio's Black History Programming:
I thought this XM Radio news might be something your readers might be interested in. XM Radio will be celebrating Black History Month with new original programming and specials throughout the month of February. XM’s vintage soul and classic R&B station, Soul Street (XM 60), will be airing vignettes and interviews featuring great African-American men and women who have made exceptional contributions to the American Culture.
On February 12th at 4pm EST (encore February 16th at 1pm EST), Soul Street’s Bobby Bennett interviews Al Bell, the former President of Stax Records and the man behind Otis Redding, Sam & Dave, Booker T & The MG’s and many other Stax’s music legends. Al Bell speaks candidly about the music industry, the artists he worked with, segregation in the South, and much more.
This interview with Al Bell will be followed by the Stax 50th Anniversary Concert, a fabulous presentation of music by Isaac Hayes, The Soul Children, Eddie Floyd, Booker T & The MG’s and many others from the Stax label.
XM’s full Black History Month’s full program schedule can be viewed here. Please let me know of any questions.
Thanks,
Cheryl
