Vince Chapman Self-Portrait

Key Conversation - a killer cut from Vince Chapman off his Self-Portrait CD which I heard for the first time last week on Mick O'Donnell's Soul Discovery Show.

His MySpace blurb describes his music as follows:

With a style resting comfortably somewhere between soul and contemporary jazz, with a sprinkle of the Blues, Vince has been blessed to share his talents throughout the US and the Caribbean. His rich baritone voice has been heard from DC's Takoma Station to the Reichhold Center for the Arts in the US Virgin Islands. Vince currently works in, what he calls a “music collective” featuring some of this areas most talented musicians like Adrian Norton, Greg Byrd, and Jonathan Davis.

His second CD entitled "Back 2 Love" was the first project produced by Chapmuzic Productions (CMP). He CMP his production company/recording studio in 1998 to expand his production interests and to help other aspiring artists fulfill their dreams.

Remind me of You is about a loss of another type, the loss of ones memory. Specifically, the loss of Vince’s mothers memory to the disease Alzheimers. The Chapman Family has been battling the ravages of the disease over the past 10 years. Vince hopes that he can use this very personal song to bring greater awareness about the effects of Alzheimers on the sufferers of the disease and their families and encourage continued support and funding for research for a cure.
