
Originally founded in 1998 as Reflection in Black Inc. a for-profit organization, it was dissolved in 2001 and became not- for-profit organization called Reflections in Black Museum Inc. The museum boasts a unique collection of multi-media presentations, rare artifacts, African Art, sculptures, paintings, musical recordings, coin and stamp collections and historical articles from Black newspapers. The organization is dedicated to preserving, conserving and accurately interpreting information covering African American inventions and Inventors, African American Musicians and other historic facts relating to African American history.

Through educational workshops, special events and unique partnerships with professional organizations and educational institutions, the Museum places the African American experience in an accurate social, cultural and historical perspective.
The museum travels throughout the United States displaying its exhibits in many local area schools and at community events.
