I have just received the latest copy of one the coolest magazines on funk and soul on the planet. This edition has articles on The Mizell Brothers, The Skullsnaps, Bobbi Humphrey and David Axelrod.
What makes this magazine so good is the quality of the writing, print, scans and the marvelous photos they always seem to turn up.
I got my copy via Soul Brother Records but try Wax Poetics themselves. My favourite edition is No 5 with the utterly wonderful Sweet Charles Sherrell article.
