The Dan Keys Band are another band I heard for the first time on the Craig Charles Funk & Soul Show. The band consist of Crispin Taylor - Drums, Mark Vandergught - Guitar, Kerim Gunes - Bass and Dan Roberts - Keys.
The band formed Jan 2006 and has had a regular residency at St Johns Tavern (Archway, London) where they have been wowing audiences with their own interpretations of classic Funk / Rare Groove tunes in the true 'North London funk' style!
Dan, who put the band together, has been playing Rhodes and Hammond for 15 years. He has played in various local bands, jam sessions and at parties. Dan was also involved with the Flipside Jam at Iceni in the 90's, Superstition and Ashram Jams as well as performing regularly at Acid Jazz's Blue Note jam in Hoxton Square with members of JTQ, Jamiroquai and The Brand New Heavies. His session credits include performing with Clyde Stubblefield, Victor Davies, Danny Redd, Pauline Henry and Sarah Stockbridge.
Mark is a guitarist with an international reputation... He played regularly, with Dan, at the Iceni and Blue Note jam sessions. He is a member of PUSH and credits include Galliano, Seal, Urban Species, Carleen Anderson, JTQ, Lewis Taylor, The JBS and Rueben Wilson, Candi Staton, Marlene Shaw, Jane McDonald
Kez has been playing bass since as long as he can remember, not many can better him. Credits include The Dirty Feel, Clyde Stubblefield, Victor Davies and The Killer Meters.
Crispin is the drummer for PUSH. His credits include Galliano, Definition of Sound, Urban Species, Carleen Anderson, Seal, JTQ, Mather ( with Paul Weller) Leon Ware, Rueben Wilson, Charles Earland, Candi Staton, Marlene Shaw and most recently Billy Paul and The Funk Brothers.

Man, I love Galliano and back in the mid-90s these guys were key players for them. Buy their stuff. Awesome!
