Bev Moore from There's That beat has sent me a mail to remind all subscribers that Issue 5 is out in September:
First of all, we at There's That Beat! would like to thank each and every one of you for your support over the last year, the magazine goes from strength to strength with every issue. We also owe many of you a huge thanks for your never ending list of label scans, promo ads and other assets that enable us to tell the stories of the artists, musicians etc, in such a colourful and vibrant way.
The guys are busy beavering away with lots of new contacts that will ensure that the contents of the magazine remain focused on what we believe is what people want to read about. Upcoming features in preparation include the stories of Ollie McLaughlin's Detroit labels, The history of The Dynamics, An investigative look at Berry Gordy's early days and his forming of the Tamla label, a look at the rare soul scene's International picture sleeves from around the globe and much much more!
In the next issue, due to hit the streets 6th September, you will find the story of Johnny Brantley - producer and arranger extraordinaire including never before seen photographs of the great man, a look at the collectibles of the label that bore the Gordy name and we feature the A & R roster and catalogue of both DynoVoice records and the Warner Borthers subsidiary of Loma records.
So, as you can see we have plenty of great features lined up that we hope will keep you entertained over the coming year.

I have extra interest in Issue 5 because I have contributed to the Johnny Brantley feature which makes me feel very satisfied to see all my research get a wider audience.
I will feature a complete mix of Johnny's productions when Issue 5 reaches the streets but in the meantime I have posted a Lenny Howard's 45. I was recently turned onto this by a regular reader of the blog and another Johnny Brantley fan Jukka Jukkats from the Finnish band Nicole Willis & The Investigators.
