As part of the entertainment offering for the first annual ‘‘Dublin City Soul Festival ~ a celebration of peace, unity & love’, organisers are delighted to be able to present, for the first time in Ireland, US soul/gospel giants The Rance Allen Group live in the intimate setting of the Round Room at Dublin’s Mansion House on Saturday May 26th 2007.
The Rance Allen Group, founded in 1960’s Detroit by a trio of brothers, are widely recognised as one of the most successful Gospel groups of all time - with a long line of awards to their credit including Grammy nominations and Stellar Awards. This Gospel Hall of Fame inducted group of musicians paved the way for contemporary gospel groups with their jazz, funk & soul influenced musical styling.
The group's style evolved in a little church in Michigan, often accompanied by the rattling of the windows and the roar of the wheels of passing trains. Their funky R&B sound reminiscent of the very best of the glory days of Motown & Stax, The Rance Allen Group’s music is easy & fun to listen to and the power of Rance’s voice is second to none!
