Bunny Sigler Gospel CD

I just got tipped to this new CD from Bunny Sigler:

Walter "Bunny" Sigler is a legend in his own time. The history of R&B and urban music is peppered with hits from the ground-breaking pioneer. A songwriter, performer and producer, Sigler is the force behind mainstream songs like Instant Funk's "I Got My Mind Made Up", Patti Labelle's "Somebody Loves You Baby", The Whispers' "Bingo", Jackie Moore's "Sweet Charlie Babe" and The O'Jays "Sunshine". Sigler, who has worked with other legends such as Kenny Gamble & Leon Huff, Curtis Mayfield, Phyllis Hyman, Lou Rawls, Harold Melvin & The Blue Notes, and Chaka Khan and countless others, has amassed recordings sales (as an artist, producer and songwriter) of over 35 million units. But for Bunny, his incredible achievements are just a comma as he delivers one of his most anticipated recordings, his first gospel album. The Lord's Prayer is the icon's first official full-length foray into sacred music. The 12-track project will be released on Bun-Z Music & Records, LLC, a joint venture with long-time friend and entertainment attorney, Lloyd Zane Remick, and distributed by Edmondson Communications, Inc., on August 19, 2008.

Although this is the artist's initial inspirational release, Sigler joined with gospel artist and harpist Jeff Majors on "Psalm 99" found on Majors' Sacred Chapter 6.Majors returns the favor on the single, "Swing Low, Sweet Chariot", which contains the unique stylings of the harpist. Taking one of the most memorable songs in church music, Sigler provides a riveting interpretation of "The Lord's Prayer", the CD's title tune.

His singing career began in church singing songs like "O Lord My God" and "The Lord's Prayer" as a youngster. Sigler sees this new album as a return to the music that he's always loved. But for him, it's about much more than the music. The project is an outward expression of his relationship with Jesus Christ. "I'm in this for real," says Sigler. "Although I've sung urban music, I never stopped singing gospel music. For me, it's all about ministry. It's such a joy for me to sing gospel music and to sing in church. I know it was God who instructed me to do this project now."

Sigler's close friend and label co-owner is thrilled to be part of the upcoming release. Having represented countless mainstream personalities including Grover Washington, Jr. and Pieces of a Dream, as well as preachers like Bishop T.D. Jakes and Bishop David G. Evans, Remick is passionate about furthering the message that Sigler sings. "Music is a universal language. And what song is known more universally than `The Lord's Prayer'?" says Remick. "I also believe that the music Bunny is singing can help change the world. I know it might sound a little idealistic, but I believe music has the power to unite us."

Sigler will be supporting the new release with upcoming tour dates. For more information on Bunny Sigler, go to www.MySpace.com/BunnySigler.
