Here's the story behind the album as told by Kevin L Goins:
Not too long ago while visiting Chicago on business, I met legendary music manager/publisher/producer Eddie Thomas-who made music history as manager of the legendary Impressions during the 1960's and co-founder of Curtom Records with the prolific and sadly depart-ed Curtis Mayfield. Eddie played for me a cassette of a smooth yet spiritual tune called "It's All Right" by Maurice & The ET Group, a vocal quintet that has combined gospel music with contemporary pop & jazz elements. Maurice & The ET Group share similar musical & spiritual back- grounds. Lead singer Maurice Jackson sang with the Independents (of"Leaving Me" fame) before answering the call to ministry in 1976 (he was ordained in 1984). Felicia Jackson-Jones (contralto) recorded with Tyrone Dickerson & The Christian Fellowship Choir for six years. Barry Burford (Tenor) attended Chicago's famed Harlan High School (the Five Stairsteps"alma mater) and recorded a number of discs with the group Nimbiss with Charles Riley and Barry's late brother Kevin. Maurice's eldest daughter Loysanne Jackson-Mahone (Soprano) has recorded with him as a background singer as well as lead. Maurice's daughter Nicole Jackson McClinton (Soprano) rounds out the quartet- she spent her early performing years on the theatre stage while in college and had a role in the Indigo Theatre's play "The Colored Museum."
The album features: Maurice Jackson - Lead Vocalist; Felicia Jackson-Jones - Contralto; Nicole Jackson-McClinton - Soprano; Loysanne Jackson-Mahone-Soprano; Barry Burford - Tenor; Mike Logan-Arranger/Piano & Keyboards; Khari Parker - Drums; Lamar Jones - Bass; Gerey Johnson - Guitar and John Corcoran - Flute on "It's All Right".
