Billy La Mont Addition

Thanks to Larry Grogan's blog I have discovered that Billy did do at least one other recording with Johnny Brantley:-

Atlantic 2319 Gate Wesley & Band (Zap Pow!) Do The Batman/?

This Vidalia production features Billy on vocals with a song cashing in on the 60's Batman series. It starts with a crash of thunder and Billy screaming "Batman Baby" and has crunching back beat with plenty of atmospheric "Batman" sounds as the band cooks. Love the stonking horn part - as Billy shouts out.

To be honest Larry does a better description than me and if you pop over to his blog you can listen to the side as well!

    the flip on this is "Do the Thing", which is mostly instrumental (& not as good)

    There's another Billy Lamont 45, on Bang;
    Shake And Jerk / Girls, Girls, Girls
    produced & co-written by Gene Redd

  3. Hi Dave

    Thanks for the additional info.

    Someone else dropped by the blog and gave me a lead to some excellent material on Billy including a full interview/photos and disco. So I will be posting something on that soon.

    Though the Bang 45 is in the discography - billy doesn't talk about it or his involvement with Gene Redd.
