Continuing with the jazzy theme I have dug out Cal Tjader's long time piano sideman Lonnie Hewitt's You Gotta Git. This early Fantasy 45 is in Ramsey Lewis type bag with a driving Wade In The Water feel.
I love the other side - the atmospheric Sausalito which starts with fog bells and birds which reminds me of visits to Frisco and driving into Sausalito making it one of my favoutite places in the world. This side may start quiet before breaking into a Cuban style break with choppy guitar similar to early George Benson. The only problem with this 45 is that it only lasts 2 mins 24 secs.
